On 23-24 March 2019 the 10th Moscow Pre-Moot to the Willem C. Vis Moot took place in the walls of the Lomonosov Moscow State University. Pre-Moot was preceded by Workshop & Conference, focused on issues of the Vis Moot problem. Both evens were organized by the Russian Arbitration Center and the Lomonosov Moscow State University.
The Conference consisted of three streamlines, being (a) powers of arbitral tribunals to adapt contracts, (b) use of illegally obtained evidence in arbitration, and (c) novelties in the HKIAC 2018 Rules. The Conference was opened by a Workshop titled “How to succeed in Vienna”.
Egor Chilikov, partner of the firm, moderated the second discussion session, devoted to the use and misuse of illegally obtained evidence. Speakers on the panel were Michael Swainston QC (Brick Court Chambers), Olga Tsvetkova (EPAM) and Sergey Alekhin (Willkie Farr & Gallagher). Other speakers and moderators at the Conference included Dr Anton Asoskov (MSU), Dr Christian Aschauer (University of Graz), Milos Ivkovic (OBLIN Rechtsanwalte), Joe Liu (HKIAC) and Andrey Gorlenko (RAD).
