On 23–24 March 2019, Petrol Chilikov, the Russian Arbitration Center and the Law Faculty of the Lomonosov Moscow State University held the tenth Moscow Pre-Moot – training rounds to the XXVI Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. 24 teams from Austria, Belarus, Germany, Moldova, Russia, Turkey, France attended the event in this year.
On 22 March 2019, on the eve of the pre-moot rounds, a workshop called “How to Win in Vienna” and an academic conference were held, on which the following topics were discussed: “Arbitration powers to adapt the terms of the contract”, “Arbitration powers to recognize evidence obtained illegally” and “Novels of Arbitration Rules of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC)”. The event was hosted by the Russian Arbitration Center at the Russian Institute of Modern Arbitration. Egor Chilikov, partner of the firm, moderated a discussion panel on the use of illegally obtained evidence. Michael Swainston QC (Brick Court Chambers, Barrister), Olga Tsvetkova (EPAM, Advisor) and Sergey Alekhin (Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP) contributed to the panel discussion.
